WELCOME TO THE MYELIN SYMPOSIUM 2026!

Dear friends and colleagues,

We are pleased to announce our 6th International Symposium on Myelin Disorders, which will take place in the vibrant city of Leipzig on 8 May 2026.

The meeting will offer an opportunity for reflection and farewell, marking 30 years of X-ALD treatment in Berlin, Wermsdorf and Leipzig, as well as 7 years of leukodystrophy research at Leipzig University Hospital. Over these years, substantial progress has been achieved in advancing our understanding of the disease and in the development of therapeutic approaches.

Nevertheless, important questions remain unresolved. Addressing the challenges ahead will require strengthened international collaboration to enable further meaningful advances. Accordingly, the symposium will also provide a forum to discuss and reflect on future directions in the field.

The symposium is organized in collaboration with the MYELIN PROJEKT Deutschland e.V., ELA Deutschland e.V. and ALD Charity Schweiz, whose mission is to advance our understanding of myelination and develop new avenues for therapeutic intervention.
